Join us at the farm for our first ever Pizza oven workshop using the amazing Alfa Forni Pizza ovens

Ross and Grant will not only teach you how to make a delicious pizza, but they will also showcase the versatility of the pizza oven, cooking Paella, Bread, scallops, shellfish and Pork chops from our very own pigs.

Wine and beer to match this style of cooking is included in the price. Soft drinks are also included.

Brief overview of the day-

  • Arrive at 10am for tea and coffee
  • Breakfast cooked on the pizza oven
  • Grant will share his knowledge of pizza dough and everyone gets to make their own to take home
  • Bake 4 different styles of pizza, two vegetarian, one fish and one using duchy charcuterie meats
  • Make an Italian piadina bread to eat alongside the pork chop with a tomato salsa
  • In a dutch oven simmer some delicious local mussels and clams in thai green curry sauce
  • Bake some scallops and finish with a garlic butter
  • Finish the day with one shellfish paella and one chorizo paella
  • The day should finish about 4pm but this could be slightly earlier

Grant Batty is a Cornwall-based recipe developer, pizzaiolo, sourdough bread baker and filmmaker.

He’s a self-taught home cook and extremely passionate about great food and local produce. After years of experience, he has mastered the craft of making authentic Neapolitan pizza at home.

Grant is an ambassador for Ooni Pizza Ovens, creating recipes, testing new products and helping people learn how to get the most out of their home oven.

The Alfa Forni pizza oven was Founded in 1977 by two friends, Marcello Ortuso and Rocco Lauro, Alfa remains a true family business. Marcello and Rocco are still the soul of the company, but they’ve now been joined by the next generation of the Ortuso and Lauro families. These ovens can be purchased through us at Padstow Kitchen Garden.

 

Food is subject to change depending on availability that day. This fabulous course is restricted to just 10 people to ensure each participant receives a thorough understanding of gas and wood fired pizza ovens
