Polytunnel Pop Up – 29th March

Sunday 29th March @ 12.30

Join us in the polytunnel for a truly seasonal feast during the hunger gap

Treat yourself to a 5 course feast in our cosy polytunnel on Trerethern Farm. Everything is cooked over fire using Big Green Egg’s and the OFYR fire pit giving the food a delicious and unique flavour.

Although this is the hardest time of the year to follow through with only using main ingredients from our farm, we have stuck to our word and curated a truly seasonal menu. We have used traditional preserving techniques such as clamping, pickling and overwintering to make sure you will have an amazing, flavoursome feast. We are not going to tell you the menu, its a surprise!

£35 per person BYO Alcohol and soft drinks (we will provide glasses)

If you would like to read about a previous pop up please check out our blog.

Hunger Gap Meaning – While everyone is thinking ‘ March, spring, food abundance’ this is not the case. March is the start of the hunger gap. This term is used to describe the time of year when UK farmers are ending their winter crops and preparing for their spring crops. The gap runs from March until late May and the main foods available this time of year are things like cauliflower, spring cabbage, early asparagus, leeks and crops grown in polytunnels.

Whilst the polytunnel will be warm, please be sure to wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear. Well behaved dogs are welcome to come along but must be kept on a lead at all times.
